Rwanda Cricket Stadium
Banda is working closely with the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation (RCSF) in a project to build and manage, on a not-for-profit basis, Rwanda’s first international-standard cricket ground. Currently under construction on the outskirts of the capital, Kigali, the pavilion’s design uses an innovative thin-shell vaulting technology, which combines environmentally sensitive design with labour-intensive, locally sourced material production. This offers a sustainable building solution and helps to build a future for cricket in Rwanda.
RCSF was formed in August 2011 and is run by a team of cricket enthusiasts from the UK and Rwanda, in partnership with the Marylebone Cricket Club Foundation. The stadium will open in October 2017 and will be celebrated with a series of events with cricketers from around the world. More information on the project can be found at: www.rcsf.org.uk/
