Spotlight on The Marble Group: the stone suppliers to Parkgate House
Today’s homeowners are more discerning than ever with the end user increasingly aware of the process and craftsmanship involved. Therefore, when designing a new development or a private home, the selection of reliable contractors and quality materials are of paramount importance.
Enter Theo Constanti and Michael Nicholas, founding partners of The Marble Group (TMG). Started in 2007, their company began by selling and manufacturing marble, quartz and granite products to local businesses and kitchen showrooms. Building on a series of successful commissions, the partners recently expanded their enterprise, purchasing a new 20,000 sq.ft. factory with the aim of increasing employment to just over 100 people by the turn of the year.
Beginning their careers working directly for trade professionals, the duo understand that service is key to growth in their industry, explaining “our aim is not just to become leading fabricators, we want to be known for our level of customer service and quality of work we provide for all our customers.”
Today the company have two arms to the business: themarblegroup.co.uk, and themarblestore.co.uk. The latter website represents the company’s online quotation service. Created with the customer in mind, the in-house designers are able to provide a quote based on plan drawings alone. Once price is agreed their quotes include template, fabrication and fitting costs with a turnaround from between 7-10 working days. TMG aim to reduce this time-scale with the facilities provided by their new premises.
One of their most recent commissions is Banda’s latest development, the Heritage Collection at Parkgate House. Over the last 6 months, our design team have worked with TMG to select and produce the stone for our bespoke kitchen and bathrooms.
Situated in the 20,000 sq.ft warehouse is a variety of specialist machinery catering to the diverse needs of the stone industry including bridge saws, edge polishing machines and slab lifting equipment.
All work-surfaces are hand crafted to individual requirements using traditional masonry skills alongside modern state of the art computer controlled machinery.
TMG stock an extensive range of full size marble, granite and quartz slabs, which are available for customers to view in their stone yard. Seeing the mature in situ enables the customer to make the right selection. Buyers are also able to view the material at a selection of TMG’s import depots in and around London.
With all materials, provenance is integral to the quality and this is especially true for stone. Understanding this, TMG take care to source their marble and granite from the top quarries worldwide.
